Ferries cost more

Effective Monday (November 1), ferry fares are going up. Thanks to the Coastal Ferry Act, fares are increasing annually at a rate of 2.8-percent for southern routes, and 4.4-percent for northern routes.
This translates to a $1 increase for walk-on passengers to Prince Rupert, and $3.25 for vehicles.
For the Kwuna, you can pay an extra quarter as a foot passenger and an additional 50 cents for vehicles. From Rupert to Port Hardy, the increase is $3.25 for walkers and $7.00 for drivers. The price of making a reservation has also gone up - to $17.50 - if the booking is made less than a week in advance.
