The ferry will be back Sunday! BC Ferries announced Friday afternoon that the ferry will resume its schedule about two weeks earlier than planned. The first ferry this month will leave Prince Rupert at 11:59 pm Sunday, arriving in Skidegate at 7:00 am Monday. It will then get back on a modified schedule, with three sailings per week. Please check the BC Ferries website, www.bcferries.com for complete schedule information.The ferry has been out of service since early this month to allow upgrading work on the Skidegate dock, needed for the new vessel, expected to arrive in BC this spring.Freight has been moving across Hecate Strait by barge, while passengers have been offered cut-rate flights to Rupert by BC Ferries.
