Burning restrictions have been lifted for category 1, 2 and 3 fires on the islands on the Queen Charlottes/Haida Gwaii and other northwestern forest areas. The lifting of the ban, which took effect at noon Friday, applies to BC Parks and all Crown land and private land out of organized areas.The ban has been lifted as a result of the fire danger being lowered by rain and cooler temperatures.The Forests Service has also lifted a campfire ban in the northwest.
