First hummingbird seen in Charlotte

The hummingbirds are back! Last Thursday (March 20) marked the first sighting in Queen Charlotte by Doug Aiken as a little bird landed on his feeder. "We were talking about them at coffee last week," he said "so when I got home I put it up, and I saw a bird there pretty much right after." Usually Mr. Aiken has his feeders ready to go during the first week of March, but he was late this year."They're here now," he says, "and they were waiting." He's been seeing birds everyday since putting up the feeder. "It's always, for me anyways, the first inkling of spring when I see the hummingbirds," he said. Also in Charlotte, Patrick Bartier and Alison Gear reported seeing a hummingbird. They first noticed it coming to their feeder on Sunday.
