GMDC holds annual meeting Wednesday

  • Dec. 6, 2010 7:00 p.m.

The Greater Massett Development Corp. has rescheduled its annual general meeting to this Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 7 pm. The meeting will be held at the Old Massett Community Hall. The GMDC had originally planned to hold its annual meeting in late November, but cancelled it at the last minute because there weren’t going to be enough directors in town. The GMDC is jointly controlled by the villages of Masset and Old Massett, and owns almost all the former military buildings in Masset. It used to operate the rec centre and swimming pool in Masset but had to shut it down in 2008 because of financial difficulty. Since then, the board has been trying to find funding to build a new rec centre for the two communities. The annual general meeting is open to the public.
