Gold and silver jewelry taken

Close to $25,000 worth of gold and silver jewelry and other items were stolen from Rainbows Gallery in Queen Charlotte last week, says owner Jack Greenwood.He said that at least 28 items including bracelets, pendants, rings, earrings argillite carvings and clothing were taken from his store on Oceanview Drive on Sept. 25.Mr. Greenwood said shoplifting has cost his store $100,000 a year for 18 years and breakage of products has cost $10,000 a year.Mr. Greenwood suspects three customers who were in the shop near closing time on Sept. 25. He and his wife did not notice the items were missing until the next morning. The RCMP could not be reached for comment on the incident.
