Gwaii Trust annual meeting Saturday

The Gwaii Trust Society - the group which hands out hundreds of thousands of dollars to islanders every year and oversees investments worth millions - is holding its annual general meeting this Saturday in Queen Charlotte.
On the agenda, says administrator Tanu Lusignan, is the society's audited financial statements, an update on the South Moresby Forest Replacement Account, an update on the broadband situation, and perhaps some information about the impact of the changes to the Trustee Act, which will allow the trust to invest outside Canada. There will also be an opportunity for the public to ask questions.
The meeting starts at 1 pm this Saturday (Dec. 13) in the meeting room at the Queen Charlotte community hall.
