Haida Nation holds house of assembly

The Council of the Haida Nation began its annual House of Assembly Tuesday morning (Oct. 11), with proceedings scheduled to wrap up Friday evening with a closing potluck dinner.
The House of Assembly, open to all Haida citizens, is being held at the Skidegate community hall this year.
CHN executive assistant April Churchill said the House of Assembly pretty much follows the same agenda every year, with all CHN committees making reports. Resolutions will be made and voted on towards the end of the week, she said.
The House of Assembly is not open to the general public, Ms Churchill said, although there may be an opportunity for a public session on Friday depending on how much other business has to be conducted.
