Hawkair out (again)

Hawkair will not be offering a scheduled service between Sandspit and Vancouver this summer, as it had planned, because of a change in ownership.Hawkair's director of marketing Darryl Tucker, said the aircraft the company was planning to use on the Haida Gwaii service are now going to Alberta instead.However, the Terrace-based company will be flying between Vancouver and Sandspit on a charter basis four days a week this summer for West Coast Resorts, he said. Flights will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and there may be some seats available for the public.Hawkair announced, then cancelled another proposed service to the islands seven years ago.
