Hospital Day committee announces bursary winner

Submitted by Jenny White--The Queen Charlotte Hospital Day Committee is pleased to announce the winner of the 2003 Margie Colcol Bursary. The recipient of this year's $1,000 bursary is Melissa Schooley of Queen Charlotte.
Melissa's parents moved to Queen Charlotte in 1998 and she has spent summers and holidays here for the last five years. She was raised and attended high school in Prince George.
Melissa is enrolled in Okanagan University College in Kelowna and is beginning her Bachelor of Science studies this September. Sheís considering the health care fields of pediatrics or geriatrics as areas of interest and focus during her studies. Melissa has volunteered around our community during her summers, and has especially enjoyed her volunteer work with the Queen Charlotte Hospital. This summer she is working with seniors in providing supportive in-home care.
Again, congratulations Melissa Schooley, this year's Margie Colcol Bursary recipient. Anyone who is considering further education in the health care fields is encouraged to apply for next year's bursary which is awarded each year around Hospital Day celebrations.
