Hospital Day Saturday, rain or shine

  • Jun. 18, 2003 2:00 p.m.

Hospital Day is all set for Saturday, rain or shine.
This year, organizers are aiming for about $20,000 to pay for new medical equipment, including equipment for the X-ray technician, a Holter monitor for heart patients and a carbon monoxide monitor to help smokers trying to kick the habit.
New this year-Jello wrestling starting at 1 pm behind the hall near the basketball court. Organized by Bernie Howlett, the event will feature people wrestling in a Jello-filled 8-foot ring. Official rules apply and contestants will compete in different weight classes. Prizes will be awarded in each class.
The day begins at 8 am with a pancake breakfast hosted by the QC Volunteer Fire Department. Also in the early morning the predicted bike race, the photo contest and the Fly-In will begin.
At 10:30 am it’s the parade, starting (as usual) in front of the hospital. Bring a float and fancy costumes (at 10 am), or stand by and cheer-either will help to make it great. The parade rolls towards the community hall, where events inside and outside take place for the rest of the day.

Hospital Day: fun for a good cause. Enjoy!
