Hospital Day Saturday, rain or shine

Hospital Day is all set for Saturday, rain or shine.
This year, organizers are aiming for about $20,000 to pay for new medical equipment, including equipment for the X-ray technician, a Holter monitor for heart patients and a carbon monoxide monitor to help smokers trying to kick the habit.
New this year-Jello wrestling starting at 1 pm behind the hall near the basketball court. Organized by Bernie Howlett, the event will feature people wrestling in a Jello-filled 8-foot ring. Official rules apply and contestants will compete in different weight classes. Prizes will be awarded in each class.
The day begins at 8 am with a pancake breakfast hosted by the QC Volunteer Fire Department. Also in the early morning the predicted bike race, the photo contest and the Fly-In will begin.
At 10:30 am it's the parade, starting (as usual) in front of the hospital. Bring a float and fancy costumes (at 10 am), or stand by and cheer-either will help to make it great. The parade rolls towards the community hall, where events inside and outside take place for the rest of the day.
For more details of the day's events, see 'Islands this week' in this Observer.
Hospital Day: fun for a good cause. Enjoy!
