Islanders make court appearances on drug charges

Some of the islanders charged following a northern BC-wide drug trafficking investigation appeared in provincial court earlier this month. They were first charged in February. o Douglas R. Crosby, charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, had duty counsel appear May 15 in Queen Charlotte provincial court. His next appearance is scheduled for June 12. o Darcy J. Pearson, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance, appeared May 15 in Queen Charlotte provincial court. Next appearance is June 12. o Darren V. Pearson, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a controlled substance, appeared May 15 in Queen Charlotte provincial court. Next appearance is June 12. o Glenn R. Pollard, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, pled not guilty May 15 in Queen Charlotte provincial court. His trial has been scheduled for Jan. 15, 2008, in Queen Charlotte, with trial confirmation Nov. 6. o Greg N. Brown, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, had counsel appear by telephone May 16 in Masset provincial court. His next appearance was scheduled for July 18. o Gwungai A. Brown, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, appeared May 16 in Masset provincial court. His next appearance was scheduled for July 18. o William R. Dudoward, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking, pled not guilty May 17 in Masset provincial court. His trial has been scheduled for Feb. 20-22, 2008, in Masset, with trial confirmation Dec. 5.
