Submitted by Pete Moore, HG Museum--The Haida Heritage Centre's fifth anniversary is approaching quickly. Be sure to head down to the centre on Saturday August 24, as we spend the day celebrating our annual festivity. To kick off the day, Centre staff anyone else who'd like to join in will march with their clan to the centre. Following this parade will be a day of traditional fun and games, as well as good food and Haida culture. Some key events not to miss are the annual men's and women's competition dances, (probably the most outstanding one yet), a seafood dinner by Kay's Kitchen, and many other fun games such as Haida Jeopardy, Dii Gwey, and the annual Haida spelling bee. The parade starts at 10 am, and the events following will go for the rest of the day; a schedule will be posted soon.
