Local, innovative TV project looking for volunteers

The Haida Gwaii Transition House is embarking on an innovative project to encourage healthier families and communities. Through the Haida Gwaii Society for Community Peace and the Vancouver Foundation, funding has been secured for a 12 episode TV series to be filmed on island at the Masset Haida Television Society's Masset Studio. Using local talent and resources we will be depicting our island culture and lifestyles. Through the medium of television we will attempt to demonstrate unhealthy choices and role model the alternatives.
There will be cameo appearances of local characters throughout the series as well as filming in various locations around the islands. The budget for this project is bare bones and we are hoping to get assistance from volunteers. We will need people with experience in costumes, set design and production. We would be very happy to have you on board the project. Please call 1-877-626-4677 if you are interested. Outreach worker Janeen Hartley can be contacted for more information at 626-4666. Please leave your name and number.
