Lands Minister Pat Bell will be on the islands Wednesday to make what is expected to be a major funding announcement connected with the recently-signed land use plan.An economic development society, formed as a result of the land use plan and chaired by Port's Cory Delves is just getting up and running. Mr. Delves recently said that it would cost $250,000 a year to administer, and expressed hope that the province will foot the bill. That figure may not include funding for projects it decides to support.Mr. Bell will be at the Forest Service open house in Queen Charlotte on Wednesday at 3 pm.The invitation to the event says he will make "a major funding announcement about economic development in the Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands."
