After recent concerns from community members, Masset Mayor Andrew Merilees is hosting a litter cleanup this Saturday."People are invited to come down to Howard Phillips Hall at 10 am, we will provide gloves, garbage bags and highlighted community maps so we don't get anyone repeating a certain area, and volunteer their time picking up litter for an hour max."After everyone is done they can bring the bags back to the hall or if they are really full, volunteers can leave them on the side of the road to be picked up.The mayor said the event will go rain or shine. He is also reminding residents about the upcoming larger scale cleanup, where community members can pay the dump fee to have bigger items picked up from their house. That event will go May13-17.
