Masset courthouse not threatened

There are no plans not to replace Masset court administrator Linda Smerychynski after she retires in early November, Jacquie Jones, the manager of court services in Prince Rupert says.
Ms Jones, in charge of staffing, said Ms Smerychynski will be replaced and the Masset courthouse will continue to operate as usual, as far as she knows.
"That's what the plan is, at this point," she said.
Masset council members, concerned about a rumour that Ms Smerychynski might not be replaced, last week wrote to the Ministry of the Attorney General and MLA Bill Belsey, asking for more information about the situation.
