Masset, CUPE reach a deal

It looks like the village of Masset and its unionized employees have reached a deal, one week after the employees voted in favour of a strike.
"We reached a deal. It was a bit of a shocker," said CUPE national servicing representative Rob Hewitt Monday afternoon. "We worked through the weekendÂ…Ultimately we reached an agreement and signed it off today."
Mr. Hewitt said the CUPE members ratified the deal Monday. It also must be ratified by the village council. The next council meeting is scheduled for Nov. 14.
