Masset gears for tourism association meeting

Masset will be crowded with visitors at the end of September when delegates of the Northern BC Tourism Association arrive for their annual general meeting, the first-ever the association has held on the islands.
Between 60 and 75 delegates, all in the tourism business, are expected to visit the islands September 25 - 28, says Masset organizer Casey Jarvis. The event will include a one-day bus tour showcasing the islands.
This will be very good for the islands, says Ms Jarvis, because people from as far away as Dawson Creek will be coming here.
The NBCTA is one of six tourism regions in BC and promotes the industry in the northern part of the province, from the Alberta border to the islands and north to the provincial boundaries.
It produces tourist publications and has a web site at www.nbctourism.com.
