Masset museum gets grant

A new roof for Masset's Dixon Entrance Maritime Museum is now a reality. A grant of $7,500 from the Vancouver Foundation completed the necessary funding for the project.
The museum is an historic building originally built in 1914 as a hospital. The restored building now houses local maritime and pioneer artifacts.
As a non-profit society with limited funds, the museum depends on assistance from outside resources.
The generous support of the local community and funding through such grants as the Vancouver Foundation has enabled the museum to preserve local history and tell the special story that is ours. The Vancouver Foundation distributes some $30-million a year to community organizations across BC.
