Masset police investigate suspicious man

  • Feb. 8, 2003 7:00 a.m.

Masset RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding information about a suspicious man on the path between Swan Crescent and Park Drive. Between Sunday (Feb 2) and Friday (Feb 7), police received two complaints.
The first was Feb. 2, when two teenage girls were walking along the path at night. They saw a person standing in the bushes. The person did not try to contact the girls, but they thought he might be following them.
Then on Feb. 7, a woman was walking along the path at night when she was approached by a man who appeared to be wearing yellow rain gear. He reached out to touch her, but was frightened away by a second man who witnessed the encounter. The suspicious man was chased into the bushes.
Masset RCMP say that while there is no evidence to connect these two complaints, they do encourage people to be cautious when walking through the area at night.
They also ask anyone with any information about these incidents to call them at 626 3991
