Masset RCMP are taking a zero-tolerance approach to weapons offences and will step up their vigilance, following rumours that trouble is brewing.
“We’ll be out in force this weekend, in bikes, in cars, possibly unmarked cars,” Sgt. Andrew Isles told the Observer. He says he has heard there may be trouble, in retaliation following a recent stabbing in town.
Police will check for alcohol consumption and public drunkenness, and are asking for members of the community to report anything that looks suspicious or if there looks like trouble is starting.
