Masset's new marina opens officially on Sunday (May 22) at 6 pm.
Masset has been working on the project for a couple of years, while actual construction began in February.
The 39-berth marina near the seaplane base is costing $1.2-million, $200,000 more than expected, mostly because of excavating problems that required overtime. The village's reserves will cover the extra costs, said village treasurer Kim Mushynsky.
All but eight of the berths have been spoken for so far.
Senator Pat Carney had been scheduled to participate in the opening ceremonies, but an illness in her family prevented her from coming to Masset.
