Minister spends several days on islands

Linda Reid, Minister of State for early Childhood Development was on the islands last week. She attended the opening of a toy library at the dii tuulang naay centre in Old Massett on Wednesday, and viewed the Kidzart on display at the credit union in Queen Charlotte on Thursday. She also met with several islanders, including school board officials and members of the Skidegate Band Council. It's her third visit to the islands as a minister (probably a record) and she plans to be back soon, possibly for the opening of the toy library in Skidegate, possibly for the ground breaking at the Qay'llnagaay Centre in July. "I don't for a second believe that we make better decisions in Victoria if you've never been to any of these communities," she told the Observer, "the best decisions are taken here, they are not taken in Victoria."
Ms Reid travelled to the islands with her family, and is staying for the weekend.
