More mail service promised

Islanders can look forward to more regular mail delivery soon. No, it doesn't mean the return of airmail, but Canada Post will soon start putting mail on five ferries a week, instead of the current three.News of this comes from Queen Charlotte mayor Carol Kulesha, who called us Friday from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities meeting in Whistler. She says Jeremy Cotton, Canada Post's general manager for government affairs approached her at the meeting and said the mail will soon move on five ferries during the summer."It doesn't resolve the winter problem, Ms Kulesha said, but it is a start.Ms Kuleha has a meeting set up with Mr. Cotton on Saturday, where she plans to outline problems with the mail here. She also said she'd like to hear from islanders who experience problems with Canada Post."Write it down and send it to me, (at the QC village office) any incidents in particular," she said, adding that she needs everyone's help to get the mail service we all need.
