The school district has announced the appointment of two long-serving local educators as principals.Ritu Marrs, who has worked on Haida Gwaii for 28 years, will be taking over as principal of Port Clements elementary school, the smallest school in this district. And at the largest school in the district, Sk'aadgaa Naay elementary in Skidegate, Vicki Ives will become principal. Ms Ives has worked on the islands for 17 years and has spent the past three years as vice-principal at Sk'aadgaa Naay. Both appointments take effect Aug. 1.
