New program flies homeless animals off the islands

Homeless animals on the islands are getting a helping hand from the Sunshine Coast SPCA branch and Pacific Coastal Airlines.
A new program called "Wing and a Paw" has been launched to transfer homeless animals from the SPCA's Queen Charlotte Islands branch to the SPCA shelter in Sechelt, where they have a greater chance of finding a new home.
Pacific Coastal Airlines is donating space on its regular flights from Masset to Vancouver to move the animals. SPCA staff and volunteers at the Vancouver airport pick up the creatures and take them to the Sunshine Coast for adoption.
