Bad luck this year for Terri-Lynn Williams-Davidson. The Haida Gwaii native was nominated for two honours given by the Native American Music Awards, but didn’t win any. The award ceremony, the 14th annual, was held last Friday in Niagara Falls, New York. The winners were chosen by votes of the NAMA board and votes from the public on the NAMA website. Ms Williams-Davidson was nominated as best female artist and for best historical/linguistic recording for her CD New Journeys. While she didn’t win this year, she’s had a good run recently, winning at the Canadian Aboriginal Awards in 2008 and 2009, and garnering nine nominations since 2011. Good luck, next year, Terri-Lynn!
