Normal school calendar next year

Schools on the islands will be following a traditional calendar next year, with the normal Christmas break and spring break in March, the school board decided when it met January 22.In 2011, the board decided it wanted to look into non-traditional calendars, with one possibility being that school would start early, and more break time added later in the year. After consultation, superintendent Angus Wilson told the board that "people kind of like things the way they are. The general consensus was to have next year follow the traditional calendar."The board must inform the Ministry of Education well in advance what calendar it will be using each year.
