North end hospital plans going well: Masset mayor Pages

Planning for the new north-end hospital is proceeding smoothly, Masset mayor Barry Pages said Monday night (Oct. 25), and the public will get a chance to learn more about the project at a meeting planned for the end of November.
Mr. Pages said the design-development stage, which has been paid for by the Northern Health Authority (at a cost of about $250,000), is now complete. The regional hospital district has now agreed to contribute some additional money, he said.
The three communities which will actually build the hospital - Masset, Old Massett and Port Clements - will be meeting again with the Northern Health Authority in the next month or so, Mr. Pages said. After that, they'll schedule a public meeting.
