The Masset paving project should be finished by next weekend, says project supervisor Bob Petho. "Things are going exceptionally well," Mr. Petho said. "They're way ahead of schedule." Things were going so well that the crew was hoping to be done by the end of August, but some late-month bad weather delayed work slightly. As of Aug. 31, there was about two days of paving left to be done, Mr. Petho said. After that the crew will be restoring and cleaning up the area. The crew has repaved more than five kilometres of the main road through Masset and Old Massett, as well as installing curbs and sidewalks in some areas. The official completion date for the project is Oct. 15.
