Northern Health has put forward a number of priorities to improve the health of northern British Columbians in the years ahead. At a recent meeting in Prince George, Northern Health board members received an update on several key strategies to address health needs in the region. “We remain focused on achieving the priorities set out in the board’s strategic plan with a view to establishing Northern Health as a leader in northern and rural health care delivery,” said Dr. Charles Jago, chair of the Northern Health board. The key priorities focus on several areas including improving aboriginal health, building a single secure clinical information system, reducing workplace injuries, working better to deal with cancer in the region, and expanding community projects to provide more care and management of health conditions.
