Northern Health is seeking feedback from local residents on addictions and mental health services in northern BC. Community meetings are being organized throughout the north in May and June. On the islands, Northern Health will be in Old Massett and Masset on June 26 and Skidegate on June 27. Interested people and groups can also offer their thoughts on services by filling out a comment form, available at www.northernhealth.ca as well as local health units, health centres and hospitals. The community meetings and the comment forms will focus on several questions about addictions and mental health care in northern communities, including: o What do you think of the current addictions and mental health services and supports in your community? o How can community groups, agencies, organizations and Northern Health work with each other to support people living with addictions and/or mental health issues? o How can families, friends and other caring individuals support those living with addictions and mental illness?
