Oil/gas meetings this Saturday

Another set of meetings on oil and gas is coming to the islands, this one sponsored by the Pacific Coast Offshore Oil and Gas Association, a Prince Rupert-based group which favours exploration and development.
The information sessions will involve several experts, including two from the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska and a risk consultant from Newfoundland.
One meeting will be held in Masset from noon until 3 pm at the community hall on Saturday, the second that evening in Queen Charlotte at the community hall, from 6 to 9 pm.
The association recently was given $129,000 by the province to promote exploration. More information about the association is available on its web site, www.pcooga.com.
