Submitted article--Thirty residents of Old Massett met at the Haida Rose Café last weekend to discuss emergency preparedness. The Old Massett Fire Department, the RCMP, OMVC, Health Centre and concerned citizens gave updates on their preparations. The Fire Department is updating its policies and procedures and will keep the community updated. Marsha talked about the importance of creating an emergency kit. The emergency kit donated by Delmas Coop, Atwells, Haida Rose, Haida Arts and Jewelry, Home Hardware and the RCMP was won by Shawn Smith.
