Open fires have been prohibited in the Northwest Fire Centre region, which includes the islands.Open fires are now banned if they are larger than 1 metre high and one metre wide. The ban does not include campfires, which are smaller.The ban applies to crown land and BC Parks land outside organized areas. Check with your local municipal authority to see if there are other regulations.To report a wildfire or unattended campfire, call 1 800 663 5555.The ban will remain until lifted.
