Order coming to Charlotte

There may soon be a new honour for islanders, particularly those living in Queen Charlotte.QC council has agreed to start a new honour, to be known as the 'Order of Queen Charlotte'."The Order of Queen Charlotte is a fraternity of merit that recognizes people who have made a positive and significant difference to our community," a document adopted Monday evening by council reads."I like it that it is generated from the community," mayor Carol Kulesha said, "there are some people who have done some tremendous work for the community and it was a way to recognize them."The honour, which may involve a badge or medal-council hasn't decided yet-will be awarded only when someone is deemed deserving. Nominations can come from any group or citizen from Queen Charlotte.
