Masset RCMP seized a pellet pistol from a GM Dawson student during lunch hour Wednesday June 4.
A teacher spotted the handgun being passed around a group of students, and immediately called police, says Cst. Trevor of the Masset detachment. Sgt. Shaw investigated and found the gun tucked into a student's belt.
Sgt. Shaw talked to the pistol's owner about handling guns responsibly, and the young man seemed to appreciate the seriousness of the situation. They took the gun and spoke to the youth's parents, but decided not to press charges.
