It was celebrations all around at the AFFNO 2023 Sugar Shack’s full return to four days of fun events starting on Jan 26, in Prince Rupert.

The 14th annual Sugar Shack brunch was held on Jan. with a packed auditorium at the Jim Ciccone centre sampling the traditional French Canadian fare such as pancakes, tourtiere, eggs, baked beans and sugar pie. Frozen maple syrup on a stick was a hot commodity with it being a favourite treat.

For those who couldn’t make the annual festival, Association des francophones et francophiles (AFFNO) is holding the Kitimat Sugar Shack on Feb. 3, and one in Smithers on March 4.
