Queen Charlotte RCMP were called out to Moresby Island last week to help search for an elderly mushroom picker who hadn't been seen for a couple of weeks, says Cpl. Ron Masch. Police found the man at his campsite and all was well, he said.Other than that, it was a mostly quiet week for the Queen Charlotte detachment. Members attended the Sept. 17 fire in Hooterville and are doing some follow-up with that investigation, Cpl. Masch said.Somebody slashed the rear tire of a police car overnight on Sept. 15, he said. The police officer had parked the car at his house because he was on call that night."It's a dumb thing to do, because if somebody needed help, he would jump in there and not be able to go right away," Cpl. Masch said.
