Police investigate drug incidents

Masset RCMP are investigating two recent drug incidents.
While conducting vehicle inspections just north of Port Clements, police seized a small quantity of marijuana from a Queen Charlotte man around noon, September 24. Then on the 25th, the police arrested a youth for picking magic mushrooms outside the Masset courthouse.
Sgt. Andrew Isles of the Masset detachment said the police are getting frequent calls about people collecting magic mushrooms on the golf course and in front of public buildings. "They're illegal because they're harmful," he said.
Police are also investigating a motor vehicle accident where speed and alcohol appear to be factors. Around 8:30 pm on Sunday Sept. 26, police were called to the accident about 10 km north of Port. A Masset woman was taken to hospital, treated and released.
