Police investigate fires in Skidegate

  • Aug. 1, 2012 12:00 p.m.

Some Skidegate residents experienced a couple of disturbing incidents last week involving purposefully-lit fires. Queen Charlotte RCMP Cpl. Ron Masch said police were called at 2:50 am July 26 after a Skidegate resident was woken up by loud knocking on their front door. They opened the door to find a fire burning on their front step. Police received a similar call from a different resident the next day. This resident had also been asleep, had heard a knock on their door during the night, and found a smouldering box outside the door. Cpl. Masch said the incidents are disturbing and police continue to investigate.
