Police look for hit and run driver

The Queen Charlotte RCMP detachment received 13 calls for service between Sept. 7 and 14.Some of these incidents include: a hit and run on Sept. 8 in the 3500 block of Third Avenue where a car was hit and the perpetrator left. Sergeant Rob Knapton says anyone with information should call the RCMP.On Sept. 11, the detachment received an anonymous call about bad driving by a blue SUV. Sgt. Knapton said they tried to locate the vehicle, but didn't have any further information.Also on Sept. 11, the police received a report of flashing lights on the island off of the Haida Heritage Centre. The caller was concerned that someone was stuck out there, but police discovered it was a kayaker with an LED light.Also on Sept. 11 was a theft at a business on Oceanview Drive. Sgt. Knapton couldn't give any further information on that incident, but they are investigating.On Sept. 12 a vehicle was broken into on the 200 block of Oceanview Drive and an air compressor was stolen. Police would like any information on this incident as well.
