The Queen Charlotte RCMP detachment received 13 calls for service between Sept. 7 and 14. Some of these incidents include: a hit and run on Sept. 8 in the 3500 block of Third Avenue where a car was hit and the perpetrator left. Sergeant Rob Knapton says anyone with information should call the RCMP. On Sept. 11, the detachment received an anonymous call about bad driving by a blue SUV. Sgt. Knapton said they tried to locate the vehicle, but didn’t have any further information. Also on Sept. 11, the police received a report of flashing lights on the island off of the Haida Heritage Centre. The caller was concerned that someone was stuck out there, but police discovered it was a kayaker with an LED light. Also on Sept. 11 was a theft at a business on Oceanview Drive. Sgt. Knapton couldn’t give any further information on that incident, but they are investigating. On Sept. 12 a vehicle was broken into on the 200 block of Oceanview Drive and an air compressor was stolen. Police would like any information on this incident as well.
