Police seize pot, cash, firearms in Masset

Masset RCMP seized $13,000 worth of marijuana, more than $20,000 in cash and six firearms from a house in Masset on Thursday (June 16), says Const. Trevor Shields.RCMP also arrested four adults during their search of the house, two Masset residents and two from off-island. All are scheduled to appear in provincial court in October.Const. Shields said the seizure and arrests came after a lengthy investigation. RCMP received a judicial authorization to enter the house and search under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, he said.The police seized 52 ounces of marijuana (with an estimated street value of $13,000), $20,325 in cash, and six firearms, he said.The RCMP continues its investigation into the matter.
