Port Bucks are back, unchanged

Port Bucks will be coming back, the program unchanged from last year.Village council looked at Port Bucks when it met Nov. 5, and decided not to change them, although making them negotiable at the Co-op in Masset was discussed."I suggested we wanted to keep Port Bucks local. Other councillors agreed," said mayor Wally Cheer.Under the program, each couple in Port receives $20 worth of Port Bucks to spend only in town. The money comes from the village's Gwaii Trust Christmas grant."Looking at our Facebook site, I saw a lot of people were happy.with the program," Mr. Cheer said, "there was no need to change."
