Port Clements supports Rupert ferry resolution

Port council will support Prince Rupert's resolution to the North Central Local Government Association on the proposed Rupert-Tsawwassen ferry route, but is not happy not being mentioned."I would like to see Haida Gwaii included in it," Councillor Ian Gould said at Monday's meeting, "it's very important for the Charlottes as well."The resolution notes the importance of the ferry as a key economic driver to northern communities (without mentioning Haida Gwaii) and says that "BC Ferries must support the northern routes in such a manner that ensures no reduction in service and no punitive fare increases."The NCLGA meets in Rupert May 11 to 13.
