The Queen Charlotte Management Committee will be writing to BC Hydro with concerns over several recent power outages.
Regional District Director Carol Kulesha told the committee when it met August 3 that there have been eight outagessince June, with three in the past few days. Each means a water and sewer worker has to go out and turn off an alarm as well as make sure that everything’s OK.
Each outage costs the community about $100, so the eight have costed close to $1,000. They are also hard on equipment, the committee heard.
(BC Hydro) told us they want to know when we are unhappy,” Ms Kulesha said, adding she planned to write with a list of the dates and ask for an explanation of each.
