A Queen Charlotte man is charged with assault with a weapon after a fight the evening of Jan 28 left another man in hospital.
Police were called to the hospital after a man was admitted with serious injuries, including head injuries, said RCMP Cst. Pat Jenkins.
The fight occurred on Causeway St. around 11 pm. Police do not know why the fight happened, but say that alcohol was a factor. The victim and assailant knew each other, says Cst. Jenkins.
Police arrested a suspect at Howler's around midnight that night. He spent the night in jail and was released the next day.
