QC school demolition proceeds

Scrap wood is still available for sale from the Queen Charlotte Secondary School demolition site, but buyers should first make an appointment with the contractor, says school district maintenance supervisor Bill Wiggins.
The old school is being gradually dismantled by contractor Steve Johansen of Prince George, and Mr. Wiggins said it should be completely gone by January.
Most of the asbestos has now been removed, although extra asbestos was discovered in the gym and consultants are talking about how to deal with that, he said.
The contractors fenced off the site after vandals broke in several weeks ago, Mr. Wiggins said, stealing tools and damaging asbestos removal equipment.
