Queen Charlotte doctor honoured

The Society of Rural Physicians of Canada has honoured Queen Charlotte doctor Jamie Chrones for meritorious long service to the community.
The society established its rural service awards three years ago to recognize long serving rural doctors, and gave the award to Dr. Chrones this spring.
About 9-million Canadians live in rural areas, according to the society, and towns under 10,000 account for 22-percent of the population, but are only served by 10.1-percent of physicians.
